It's always a hard proposition to describe one's own persona. But, as a beloved movie character used to say: "there is no try, only do", so here I go. My name is Yonatan Soler Rosado (I love both sides of my family, I can't leave out my mother's side), and I'm truly fond of the notion of developing one's self throughout time and ripening character through time as a good wine. Nonetheless, my current person is one that loves to be organized to a stressful yet liberal degree, a lover of arts of all kinds (Photography is my passion and luckily my job at the moment, I enjoy to learn about all ways of life and beliefs, I love movies (specially ones that have beautiful photography, but obviously substance over beauty any day), and I incline to keep a very strict moral compass shaped my fundamental christian/fundamental beliefs but I keep shaping this to encompass other views. I've transferred from Emory University, which is in Atlanta, Georgia, to the university of Puerto Rico and happily so. There are many things I could keep on listing about myself, but I believe that through the use of this blog, you will get a fuller understanding of who I am, what I stand for and will probably get annoyed by my huge love for photography.

Having only just met you in January and now through this post I can tell that even if you seem very serious at first you are a very kind and fun-loving person. You"re very right to use your second name in this, most people usually don't use it when talking or writing in English and I don't know why it kind of feels a bit offensive, like erasing a part of yourself, and I admire you for not doing that. But I keep wondering about your description of the moral compass, its foundations a christian but you are willing to branch out and encompass new points of views, does this mean you would consider yourself a more Liberal Christian, or Christian at all? I don't mean offend and if I do I apologize, religion is just a very curious concept for me.
ReplyDeleteI always try to write both my last names too, since I was mostly raised by my mothers side of the family. I'm kinda organized I like to think but not too a stressful point like you. The arts have always been a passion of mine. I'm old fashioned so incline toward drawing but photos are cool too. The black and white photos posted here look almost like their hand drawn which I really like. Being open minded can definitely help you see different sides to things and you can learn a lot from other people without having to essentially change your core beliefs. Hope everything goes well here in University for you and that you continue to develop and grow on your job an business studies.
ReplyDeleteFor the little time that I know you, I can see your love for photography. You're really good and you should keep working with it! It's really glad to see someone who is open with the facts of life and it's people with their own beliefs. I don't know if it's our generation or everyone, but I like how people are fascinated by the different kinds of opinions in the world and how we want to know everything, even if it’s a little bit. I guess that’s how we come to know ourselves better and to see what we truly like and what not. You should keep looking at the world with that open mind because we need more people like that. Who knows? With people like that maybe we all came come close to the idea of "peace in the world".
ReplyDeletePretty cool pictures the ones you posted here. Yadiel is right, they almost look as if they were hand drawn. I like the fact that you incorporated both of your last names as they are both very important. My favorite part of this post is when you say that you're truly fond of the notion of developing one's self throughout time and ripening character through time as a good wine. It is a really good analogy. I wish you the best with your studies.
